Armando Santos’ educational background is rooted in five years Master’s studies at State Art College’s Institute of Fashion and Costumes in Oslo, Norway. He was only male student among seven graduates.
Santos’ final exam collection brought deep impression. He was being awarded design prizes during his studies for contemporary productions. Simultaneous he received a two years apprenticeship with Oslo’s leading couturier those days: Kjell Torheim.
Armando’s creations span a diverse universe. From fashion designs celebrating timelessly elegant fluid curves, through exquisite handicraft details and fine pearl embroideries to textile sculpting including conchy voluminous organic seashell forms. He was exhibited in Paris, London, Milan and Copenhagen. That together with with three solo shows in Oslo, resulted in purchases by the Norwegian Museum of Decorative Arts and Design in three major Norwegian cities: Oslo, Bergen and Trondheim. Armando received several grants and awards for all facets of his combined works.
